Running is Timeless
It figures that I would run my best time in a 5k to date and then not have the actual results to prove it!
My friend, Jenn, and I ran the 27th annual Christopher Martin's 5k in New Haven this morning and I finished the race in under 26 minutes.
As I crossed the finish line I gazed at the clock in amazement but apparently my daze of glory distracted me from passing over the last timing bar, which would have logged my finish time. Shucks!
Oh well, I guess I'll just have to run another race very soon in order to prove to the world that I am really kicking some butt.
Some highlights of the race:
We met a 65 year old man who ran the race in his bare feet. Apparently he's been doing it for 40 years and he had the soles to prove it!
Runners donated unwrapped toys to benefit needy children this holiday season.
And, finally, free rolls of Chabaso bread and beer! Now that's a post-race must have.
