The Playlist
I'm a person with few passions. My husband always picks on me because I never really get jazzed about anything. For a while, that really bothered me. I mean, who doesn't have a passion? Something that they devote their time, effort or money to? So I thought about it and I realized, the one true passion I have is music.
No, I'm not a musician but I love listening to music. I like to use it as a soundtrack to my life. There are so many songs I hold dear because of the moments they help me remember about my life. I love discovering new music and introducing people to new or unknown artists.
I'm also a person who loves lists. I make playlists all the time and I love when I get to share them. I also love the "best of" lists. I love watching AFI list the top movies of all time. I love reading Rolling Stone's lists of the best album/song/artist of the year or of all time. I love watching VH1's endless specials on a certain genre of music and how they rank the artists and their songs or videos.
And so I've combined the two. I have made a list of 50 Favorite Songs. Keep in mind, these are MY favorite songs, so you may disagree with this list from top to bottom but at least it will get you thinking.

I know what you're thinking, its awesome, right? Or, you're thinking "how cliche to make the number one song a Beatles song." Well, all I can say is that "Dear Prudence" really is my favorite song. Just ask anyone who ever had to live in a college dorm with me. As for the rest, they are all an integral part of my music collection and in some aspects, my life. So, thanks for letting me share that.
