A Case of the Mondays
You know when you've had one of those days that just didn't go right from beginning to end? When you wake up thinking you'd rather just stay in bed than have to face the world. I'm having one of those days.
At my job I dealt with cranky customers and impossible orders. I had to finagle my work schedule to deal with a problem that arose with my car. I heated up my soup in the microwave a little too much. Instead of letting it cool, I slurped it down and I've had that "burnt soup" taste in my mouth ever since. Suffice to say, its not a great day.
Why is it that Mondays always seem to be this bad? Tuesdays are benign, Wednesdays mean you're half way through the week, Thursday are always a good excuse to find a Happy Hour somewhere and Fridays are just the best. So why do Mondays always have to stink? It makes me think back to a song that a local radio station always used to play on Monday mornings. Its called "Life Sucks, Then You Die" by The Fools.
I think the radio station played it for the simple reason that if life was going to suck, it was going to suck on a Monday. My dad always used to crank it in the car and sing along. It was probably while he was driving me and my sister to school because we missed the bus - again.
I have decided that today is a day for that song. So enjoy! (The lyrics are a little explicit so if you're easily offended, don't say I didn't warn you first.)
